Collaborating with community stakeholders to help serve underserved populations

2016 Pinal County Stand Down

2016 Pinal County Veteran
Stand Down and Military Families Day

National Community Health Partner's Housing for Heroes and several other Arizona based programs for U.S. veterans joined forces at the National Guard Armory in Florence on Saturday, April 23 to bring much needed services to veterans and their families and honor the sacrifice they've made in service to our country.

It was an event open to all veterans with special services available to homeless veterans.

NCHP was one of many organizations on hand to help provide information and services such as clothing, meals, emergency shelter, housing information, transportation, legal information, VA services and health information, job training information, financial advice, and more.

Some of the participating organizations included the Arizona Stand Down Alliance, Eloy Vet Center, HOHP (Honoring/Hiring/Helping Our Heroes of Pinal County), Arizona Workforce Connection in Pinal County, American Legion, Arizona Motor Vehicle Division, Cenpatico, Arizona Department of Economic Security, Marine Corps League, Blue Star Moms of Maricopa County in addition to NCHP.

While at the Stand Down, NCHP's SSVF Evaluator Erica Aguirre led several attendees and volunteers in a 22 Pushup Challenge.

On average, twenty-two U.S. veterans commit suicide every day. To bring attention to this tragedy, veterans and others are committing to complete 22 pushups every day for 22 days.
