Housing for Heroes: Calvin Stinson Jr. 

Calvin Stinson Jr is a Navy Veteran who served from 1983-1991. During his time in the Navy he served two 6 month deployments. Calvin fell behind on his rent and knew he needed help to get back on his feet. We helped him catch up on his rent and prevent eviction. Here is what Calvin had to say:

I just had to reach out to you, Nikki and Ashley. Thanks so much for your patience. It is a wonderful feeling knowing there are some people that have a good heart like you, and go the extra mile for you when you don't have to. You and management have gone way beyond being nice. I felt your agency had the understanding of me being at risk of being homeless, and I felt you wanted to assist me in catching up with my rent. You prevented me and my son from being evicted and on the
streets. I have been a single father for the past 3 years, and there have been many struggles along the way. I relocated from Chicago with limited to no family support. NCHP has gone well beyond their way in assisting me with my rent. I have never been so close to ever being evicted, so saying this is beyond stressful is an understatement. I really did not know who to turn to for help. It was a prior NCHP participant that referred me to NCHP. NCHP allowed me to continue to provide a safe and healthy environment for my son. Now, I am definitely making plans to save, and I will never be put back in this situation again. My son and could have been homeless on the streets, if we did not find NCHP. It is hard enough being a single parent, and if I would have been evicted, I do not know what we would have done. I sincerely can't thank you enough for everything.
