A 'Littlest Hero' Update

Sonny Green visited the National Community Health Partner's SSVF office in Yuma with his parents (Kevin and May Green) to celebrate the Marine Birthday with NCHP and was given the camouflage sleeper and Marine Bib by Housing for Heroes (SSVF) Project Director and Retired Marine, Rafael Jubera.

The Green family entered the Housing for Heroes Program just days before Sonny was born (8/17/14), making him the youngest participant in the program at this time. The Green family had been residing in a homeless shelter after Mr. Green had lost his job.

The Green family has been stably housed and employed due to the team effort of the NCHP Housing for Heroes (SSVF) Program. Mrs. Green is working on base at the commissary. Mr. Green is working as a security guard and will start truck driving school on November 17, 2014 (the day Sonny turns 3 months old). Sonny is a healthy and happy boy. This month the Green family will successfully exit the NCHP Housing for Heroes (SSVF) Program.

The Green family promises to keep in touch and to bring Sonny in for periodic visits.
