SSVF - PIT Survey in SE Arizona

NCHP looking for volunteers to help complete countywide survey

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY -- National Community Health Partners (NCHP) is asking for volunteers to help complete an important survey in the community.

NCHP will be performing a Point-in-Time (PIT) survey of area homeless in Graham, Greenlee, and Santa Cruz Counties during the last week of January.

The survey is required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is performed so as to identify unsheltered homeless persons, individuals and families, living in these counties. Examples may include someone sleeping in a car, park, under a bridge, on the street, camping in the desert, in an alley, or any place not designed for ordinary use as a regular sleeping accommodation.

The survey helps determine the distribution of federal funds and develop strategies to help end homelessness.

NCHP is in need of volunteers in each of the three counties to assist with the surveys. The survey will be conducted in Graham and Greenlee Counties on January 27-28 and in Santa Cruz January 29-30. All volunteers will need to complete a 1.5 hr. training prior to conducting the survey.

Trainings will be held at the following times and locations:

  • January 26, 2015 – 5-7 P.M.
    Quality Inn & Suites
    420 E. US Hwy 70
    Safford, AZ 85546
  • January 28, 2015 – 5-7 P.M.
Best Western Sonora Inn & Suites
    750 W. Shell Rd.
    Nogales, AZ 85621

Anyone interested in helping complete this important task is asked to please sign-up online at www.nchponline.org. Individuals may also sign-up the day of the training.
